Closure vs frontal: which should you buy?

Closure or frontal? The real difference, what each costs you in bundles, and which suits your style and budget.
Both a closure and a frontal do the same core job — they recreate a natural hairline so none of your own hair is left out. The difference is how much of your head they cover, and that changes your parting options, your bundle count and your budget.
Closure (4×4 or 5×5)
- Covers the crown / parting area only.
- Best for a natural centre or side part.
- More affordable, and quicker to install and maintain.
- Pairs with about 3 bundles for a full install.
Frontal (13×4)
- Spans ear to ear across the whole front hairline.
- Part anywhere, pull into a middle-parted ponytail or updo.
- The most versatile — and the most beginner-unfriendly to lay well.
- Covers more of the front, so you can often use one bundle fewer behind it.
So which one?
If you love a simple middle or side part and want to save, get a closure. If you switch up your styling, want ponytails, or want maximum versatility, get a frontal. Whichever you choose, buy it from the same batch as your bundles so the texture and colour match.

Is a frontal better than a closure?
Not better — more versatile. A frontal lets you part anywhere and do ponytails; a closure is cheaper, faster and perfect if you like a fixed part.
Which lasts longer, a closure or a frontal?
With the same care, both last as long as your bundles. Frontals sit on more of the hairline, so edges need gentler handling to stay laid over time.
Can I part a closure anywhere?
Within the closure area, yes (a 5×5 gives more room than a 4×4), but only a 13×4 frontal lets you part right across the front, ear to ear.
